The YouTube Thing - Brighton

This is a show curated by friends Nadege and Orion from collective art group ProtoPLAY. I got a sneak preview of one of the videos - this is really good weird shit. YouTube is like a bigger version of the access channel gone global, possibly interesting, and usually wrong. Those of you who are from the States know what I mean when I talk about the access channel - thank god for the freaks. So if you're around on Tuesday 29th April, go check it out. It's free. The YouTube Thing is a curated screening of videos from YouTube, selected in collaboration with Nadege Derderian and Orion Maxted from protoPLAY. A screening of touching, angering, curious, visceral and ever-so voyeuristic pieces, taken from the mass contemporary ‘archive’ of YouTube.

There will be an opportunity for questions with the curators, and a special piece of writing about The YouTube Thing will be available.

We will be exchanging a programme of work with NWFF later in the year. Work we have selected will be screened in September in Brighton and at NWFF's venue in Seattle in December.
